Ish Sodhi Achieves Milestone: Fourth New Zealand Player to Reach 100 T20Is

Ish Sodhi’s remarkable cricket journey has seen him achieve a significant milestone as he joins an exclusive club of New Zealand players who have participated in 100 T20 International matches. This momentous achievement occurred during the second T20I clash between England and New Zealand in Manchester, where Sodhi’s name was etched alongside Martin Guptill, Tim Southee, and Ross Taylor in this prestigious club.

Sodhi debuted in his first T20I match in 2014, steadily accumulating 121 wickets with an economy rate of 8.01, and boasting his best bowling performance at 4-28. These exceptional statistics establish him as the second-highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in this format, trailing only behind the prolific Tim Southee, who has claimed 141 scalps. On a global scale, Sodhi ranks as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in T20Is, following in the footsteps of Southee, Shakib Al Hasan (140), and Rashid Khan (130).

As the Blackcaps look forward to the upcoming T20I encounters against England scheduled for September 4th and 6th, Ish Sodhi is determined to continue adding to his impressive wicket count.
