To welcome in the start of the 2019/20 cricket season, Canterbury Cricket hosted a ‘coaches breakfast’ for the Calder Stewart Business Club at the Grand Café, Christchurch Casino with over 40 guests in attendance.
The breakfast featured guest speakers Brendon Donkers (Canterbury Men’s Head Coach) and Dion Ebrahim (Assistant Coach) who first gave insight into their cricketing backgrounds and how they’ve been managing the team over the past 12 months since the departure of Blackcaps head coach Gary Stead.Grand Café
Original Sin on The Terrace hosted our second Calder Stewart Business Club event for the year with 35 guests treated to a 3-course lunch.
Joining were Canterbury’s most capped cricketers, Frances Mackay and Andrew Ellis. A Q&A followed the main where the Canterbury veterans spoke about their cricket experiences from their first Canterbury outing to their international success.ORIGINAL SIN
AFTERNOON TEA AT THE CRICKET
All Calder Stewart Business Club Members were invited to an afternoon of Ford Trophy action as Canterbury faced off against the Otago Volts at Hagley Oval.
A win would have put Canterbury through with a chance of hosting the Ford Trophy Grand Final, instead, the hosts suffered an untimely upset against the fighting Otago Volts at Hagley.Hagley Oval
EVENING AT THE COURT THEATRE
Our final Calder Stewart Business Club event for 2019/20 was full of laughs when we visited The Court Theatre in Christchurch.
Guests were entertained by the brilliant Court Jesters and enjoyed a Q&A with new Head Coach Peter Fulton and BLACKCAP Daryl Mitchell who recently relocated from Hamilton to Christchurch.
Big thanks to our friends Ara Institute of Canterbury and The Court Theatre for a lovely evening.COURT THEATRE
