Building on the success of last seasons introduction, the Tri-series will again take place. The 3 teams selected named ‘Nicholls’, ‘Latham’ and ‘Henry’ (Canterbury’s 3 Black Caps) will be comprised of players from the U17 Regional tournament, U15 Regional tournament, and the South Island Primary Schools tournament. Players selected in the U17 Canterbury team will not be considered for the Tri-series (as they will both run at the same time).
The Tri-series provides playing opportunities for 36 players at this critical developmental stage before Term 1 starts back at school. Having an age range will allow the younger players to be extended and test themselves at a higher level.
