Canterbury Cricket Junior Performance Squad (JPS) & Senior Performance Squad (SPS)

These select groups are invite only and provide additional training and playing opportunities for talented players identified through the representative programmes. Building on the principles outlined in the Canterbury Cricket Long Term Athlete Development Model, the two groups will be based on Developmental Age and not be restricted by birth-dates or age-group cut-off dates.

This year sees the inclusion of ‘away’ games for the JPS v Tasman and Otago. While the SPS has matches v Marlborough and Canterbury Country.

  • Not restricted by age-group cut-off dates

  • February 5/6 – SPS vs Marlborough Senior Men (Mandeville)
  • February 12 – JPS & SPS – Spin scrimmage day (Hagley Corner)
  • February 19 – JPS match simulation day (STAC)
  • March 5 – JPS & SPS – Pace scrimmage day (Hagley Corner)
  • March 12 – SPS v Canterbury Country (Mandeville)
  • March 19 – JPS v Otago (Aorangi Oval, Timaru)
