Todd began his career for Canterbury back in 2005 and was initially a top order batsman. Over time Todd developed into one of New Zealand’s finest leg spin bowlers, a skill which saw him play all 3 formats for the Blackcaps. As of 2020 Todd has retired from first class cricket and will focus on the shorter formats of the game, he is currently sitting as Canterbury’s Leading first-class wicket taker with a mammoth 303 first-class wickets and hold a highest score of 195.
