The WHITE FERNS have just concluded their Tri-Series against South Africa and England. We get some insight from Canterbury and WHITE FERN leading pace bowler Lea Tahuhu about how the Tri-Series went and what’s next for their tour.
Tri Series Summary
We were obviously disappointed with the performance we put in during the Tri Series final. We played some good cricket against South Africa but were unable to do the same against England. We didn’t execute our plans consistently enough so that’s what we are looking to correct heading into the One Day series against England starting on Saturday.
What’s next on the agenda after the Tri Series?
We have arrived in Leicester for a warm up game against the England Academy team which we played overnight prior to the start of our One day series in Leeds on Saturday.
How do you adjust from T20 to One-Day cricket?
It’s about being able to build and maintain pressure for a longer period of time with the ball. So as a bowling unit that’s what we are looking to execute. And with the bat it’s important to build big partnerships.
Any holidays planned after the tour?
I’m spending a couple of weeks up in Manchester at the end of the tour. I’ll be looking to play a bit of golf and catch up with a few friends up there before heading home to build towards the T20 World Cup in November in the West Indies.
