Eight Canterbury Cricketers have been selected as part of the New Zealand Under 19 World Cup Training Squad. The full squad of 29 players will work together during the winter in the build up to the cup which is being held during February 2010.
Richard Hayward, Canterbury’s Director of Coaching and Development commented “I am delighted that these players have been identified by New Zealand Cricket’s Under 19 selectors. It will be an invaluable experience training in this squad under the direction of the team’s coach Mark O’Neill and the national specialist coaches. Hopefully some will progress to selection in the New Zealand team for the World Cup”.
The venue for the tournament is to be confirmed.
